Google Maps on new websites

1. About 1 in 30 websites that went live in the last 30 days use Google Maps (3.5%).^[1]
2. It is the most common map service on new sites, about 11 times as common as the next, Leaflet.
3. It is unusually common among health launches: 33%, against 15% across new sites.

1. These figures cover websites that went live since April 2026, not the web as a whole.
2. Country comes from what each site says about itself, such as a company registration, legal terms or a phone number, not just its domain ending. We count a country only where it is stated plainly enough to be sure: a governing-law clause or company registration number on a legal page, a phone country code, or a country domain ending. Sites that publish none are not counted at all.
