The most popular stack for new launches

The stack new products actually ship, measured from 60,550 launches we crawled in the last 90 days. Each layer shows the most common choice and its share of those launches.

In short: React with Next.js, styled with Tailwind CSS and Lucide Icons, on Vercel behind Cloudflare, with Stripe for payments, Google Sign-In for auth, Resend for email, Google Analytics for analytics.

The default launch stack

Layer Most common % of all launches Also seen
Front-end framework React 45.2% Vue.js 2.1% · Svelte 1.1% · Capacitor 0.8%
Meta-framework Next.js 32.8% Astro 3.7% · Nuxt 1.0% · SvelteKit 0.6%
Build tool What bundles the front-end. A client-rendered SPA often shows only its build tool from the outside; the framework above it is compiled away. Vite 23.6%
CSS Tailwind CSS 46.4% Bootstrap 2.5% · UIkit 0.1% · Layui 0.1%
UI components Lucide Icons 31.8% shadcn/ui 17.6% · Flowbite 0.0% · Chakra UI 0.0%
Hosting Vercel 27.2% GitHub Pages 4.0% · Netlify 3.9% · Render 2.1%
CDN Cloudflare 47.4% Fastly 5.9% · AWS CloudFront 2.0% · Bunny CDN 0.5%
Backend / BaaS The closest we can see to a data layer. Most databases are invisible from outside. Firebase 3.9% Supabase 2.7% · Convex 0.1% · Neon 0.0%
Auth Google Sign-In 5.8% Auth.js 1.9% · Clerk 1.9% · Google Identity Platform 0.4%
Payments Stripe 4.2% Paddle 1.0% · Razorpay 0.9% · PayPal 0.5%
Email Resend 18.5% Brevo 3.2% · Amazon SES 3.2% · SendGrid 2.4%
Analytics Google Analytics 37.4% Cloudflare Web Analytics 8.0% · Vercel Analytics 7.7% · PostHog 7.0%

What we can't see. Databases, ORMs, the language (TypeScript compiles to JavaScript) and most server frameworks run server-side or are compiled away, so they're invisible to an external crawl. We'd rather say so than guess. Where a server framework is detectable, the leaders are Express (1.68%), Laravel (1.05%), ASP.NET (0.47%), Rails (0.27%).

How they combine

The framework-and-host pairings, among the 16,175 launches where we identified both (26.71% of crawled launches). Next.js on Vercel dominates, so the rest is a long tail.

Framework Host Launches % of pairs
Next.js Vercel 11,023 68.15%
React Vercel 1,643 10.16%
React Render 583 3.60%
Next.js Railway 467 2.89%
Next.js Netlify 374 2.31%
Astro Vercel 331 2.05%
React Netlify 287 1.77%
Next.js Render 152 0.94%
Other combinations (88 stacks) 1,315 8.13%

How we count. Each launch is taken at its most recent scheduled crawl, over the last 90 days. Shares are the percentage of all crawled launches that show each technology, so they're comparable across layers and honest about sparse ones. Figures cover only launches we could crawl and fingerprint. See the methodology for detail.
